The Québec City International Festival of Military Bands increases the visibility of Québec City both in Canada and abroad, favouring the development of our culture and of the tourist industry. Unique and innovative, the Festival is a key element for generating major economic impacts.
The Québec City International Festival of Military Bands is a major cultural event in La Vieille Capitale, as well as the rendezvous par excellence for Canadian and foreign military bands. This is a unique window providing Canada with an opportunity to welcome countries from around the world to the city of Québec. Festival-goers, whether local or foreign visitors, can discover and appreciate Canadian and international military music traditions and their values.
Festival organizers are receiving an increasing number of requests from foreign bands to participate in the event. Bands from countries such as Belgium, Sweden, France, the United States, Chile, Norway, Netherlands, Finland and Germany have already expressed their interest in the IMBF. Many contacts abroad have promoted the event, as well as the city of Québec, thus creating a major international network. Over the years, members of this network have become valuable ambassadors of both the Festival and the city of Québec.
