Preliminary Program from August 21 to 26
The 14th presentation of the Québec City International Festival of Military Bands will be held from August 21 to 26, 2012 . The detailed program will be available in July 2012.
August 22 (8 P.M.): Military Grand Concert
International Grand Concert “Celebrating 150 years of history of the Voltigeurs de Québec”
Presented at the Grand Théâtre de Québec, this concert brings together close to 200 artists from foreign and Canadian bands as they join up on the same stage to celebrate the Voltigeurs de Québec's 150 years of history.
August 21 (7.30 P.M.): Welcoming Ceremony
Some 700 musicians will open the Festival at the traditional Welcoming Ceremony at Place George V. A dazzling event not to be missed! FREE.
August 23, 24 and 25 (7 P.M.): Québec City Military Tattoo at the Pepsi Coliseum
The remarkable Québec City Military Tattoo is a whirling kaleidoscope of music and display, featuring 700 musicians and participants in a stunning mix of music and spectacular choreography. The drums and pipes, drill teams and Massed Band performances are guaranteed to captivate spectators. To purchase tickets.
August 25 (2 P.M.): Festival Parade
Bands will march in time as they perform Military Marches and other works. The audience lining the Grande Allée will enjoy this magnificent, impressive and dignified performance of Military Music (raincheck: Sunday, August 26). FREE.
August 26: Family Day
Music lovers, young and old, are invited to come and discover Military Music during a special day devoted to families at Place George V. Parents and children can enjoy their picnics while free concerts and theatrical pieces are performed. FREE.
August 22 to 26: Outdoor free popular concerts & Place George V
An invitation to discover and appreciate Old Québec architecture in a Military Music ambiance. Program to be confirmed. FREE.
